2022 Community Inclusion Grant Round focused on social inclusion and participation for people living with disability

The State Trustees Australia Foundation (the Foundation) has awarded grants of between $8,000 and $20,000 to 14 charitable organisations across Victoria. The grants are part of the Foundation’s 2022 Community Inclusion Grant Round, which focused on supporting programs encouraging social inclusion and participation for people living with disability.

State Trustees CEO, John Velegrinis, said this year’s round of grant applications combined groups seeking to provide practical solutions to real world problems, educational support and creative projects bringing people together.

“This year’s Community Inclusion Grant Round recipients represent a diverse range of groups and interests. The grants deliver on the Foundation’s aim of reaching across a broad section of the community, improving the lives of people living with disability and promoting inclusion for marginalised groups,” Velegrinis said.

“The Foundation couldn’t distribute grants each year without the generosity and kindness of people who choose to make charitable giving part of their legacy to our community. We are grateful to those people who enable the Foundation to continue supporting such important work,” he added.

This year’s grant recipients include Flying Fox Services Ltd, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Kids Plus Foundation and Footscray Community Arts Centre.

The range of programs covered includes life skills and social group gathering programs for adults with disabilities, training and mentoring programs for children with complex-communication needs, and art and theatre performances. The programs all focused on improving social inclusion and participation for people living with disability.

The 2022 Community Inclusion Grant Round builds on the more than $38 million the State Trustees Australia Foundation has distributed to charities since being established as a public charitable trust in 1995. The Foundation receives donations from individuals, families or companies during their lifetime or as a gift in their will.
