What is a trustee?

15 November 2023

The trustee is responsible for owning the trust assets and conducting trust administration. This administration is carried out according to trust authority rules (specified in a will, trust deed or court order). A trustee is guided by laws, acting in the best interests of the beneficiaries. They can be 1-4 people, a company, or a trustee organisation like State Trustees.
