The aim of this guide is to outline when someone might need decision-making support, advocacy and substitute decision-making. The information is particularly for people with significant cognitive disability who are using the NDIS or who are applying for the NDIS. It covers each of the decision-making stages that participants go through with the NDIS.
The information on this page is about accessing the NDIS and who is eligible to use the scheme.
The Victorian government will keep providing supports for people who don’t qualify for the NDIS. This page has information about the Department of Health and Human Services’ disability services.
Young People (under the age of 65) with high care needs who live in nursing homes are eligible for NDIS funding.
