Program objectives
This grant round was initiated in 2018 and has a broad remit for the preservation of flora and fauna.
Current recipient
In accordance with our granting philosophy and our commitment to collective impact, the grant was allocated to Australian Land Conservation Alliance (ALCA).
ALCA is a national conservation organisation working to promote the conservation of private lands in Australia. The alliance is Australia’s first national organisation that brings together key participants in the private land conservation sector.
ALCA, in close consultation with private land conservation stakeholders:
- Acts as a national voice for private land conservation in AustraliaÂ
- Is developing a national framework for private land conservation in AustraliaÂ
- Contributes its experience and knowledge of private land conservation to other organisations and State and Commonwealth conservation practitioners to inform and improve consistency of national private land conservation policies, programs and activities
- Is working to establish an integrated research agenda addressing issues impacting the uptake of conservation on private landsÂ
- Is working to develop and improve the consistency of private land conservation tools and practicesÂ
- Works to increase public support for private land conservationÂ
- Works to build conservation knowledge through sharing experiences and best management practices in private land conservationÂ
- Is working to develop opportunities for the public to benefit from hands-on experience in private land conservation through visitation, volunteering and other activitiesÂ
- Is working to increase the permanence of conservation on private landÂ
Eligibility
Item 1 DGR organisations which are registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and endorsed with charity tax concessions.
