2021 Community Inclusion Grant Round focuses on social inclusion and participation for people living with disability

The State Trustees Australia Foundation (the Foundation) has provided grants of up to $20,000 to 13 charitable organisations across Victoria. The grants are part of the Foundation’s 2021 Community Inclusion Grant Round, which focuses on supporting programs that encourage social inclusion and participation for people living with disability.

State Trustees CEO, Matt Carrick, said this year’s round of grant applications was particularly strong, featuring a diverse range of programs seeking to make life for Victorians living with disability more inclusive, fun and connected.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce this year’s Community Inclusion Grant Round recipients. The selected programs represent a mix of creative, practical and innovative projects aimed at improving the lives of people living with disability and promoting a more inclusive Victorian community,” Mr Carrick said.

“We are thankful for the kindness of people and organisations in the community who have left donations to the State Trustees Australia Foundation. Their generosity enables us to distribute these grants each year and continue supporting such important projects.”

This year’s grant recipients include Reclink Australia, Rights Information and Advocacy Centre Inc, Guide Dogs Victoria and The Port Campbell Surf Lifesaving Club.

The range of programs covered includes acting, leadership and vocational workshops; a floating wheelchair project to improve beach accessibility; and rights awareness, advocacy and social networking initiatives.

The 2021 Community Inclusion Grants build on more than $30 million distributed to charities by the Foundation since its establishment in 1994.The Foundation receives donations from individuals, families and companies during their lifetime or as a gift in their will.
