Recommendations to increase will making in the Australian population

New study explores will making and contestation in Australia

The first national research of its kind

The project was funded by the Australian Research Council in conjunction with seven public trustees including State Trustees. The University of Queensland worked in partnership with the Queensland University of Technology, Victoria University, the public trustees and 2700 research participants to prepare Having the Last Word.

The study brings together the first national research of its kind and makes recommendations to:

  • increase will making in the Australian population
  • ensure the wills of those Australians who have taken this step reflect their current situation and intentions
  • and reduce will contestations
