ENTRIES OPEN FOR ANNUAL CONNECTED ART EXHIBITION
State Trustees is pleased to announce that entries are now open for the 16th CONNECTED Art Exhibition. The exhibition recognises and showcases some of Victoria’s most talented emerging artists living with a disability or mental illness.
The CONNECTED Art Exhibition is a free event which celebrates art and culture in Victoria and its ability to enrich people and communities, and well as encouraging social inclusion.
To be eligible to enter, artists must be 18 years or over, from Victoria, with a disability or an experience of mental illness. Artists can submit work under these disciplines: painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, multimedia and digital arts, photography, printmaking and poetry.
Successful artists will be showcased at the Exhibition which will run between Friday 19 October and Friday 26 October at the Atrium in Federation Square.
State Trustees’ Acting CEO, Agata Jarbin, said the CONNNECTED Art Exhibition is one example of how State Trustees provides public benefit to Victorians by supporting local communities and emerging artists.
“After 15 years, this Exhibition is becoming somewhat of an iconic event for Victoria. It’s so rewarding to see firsthand the joy experienced by new artists seeing their work publicly on display.”
“Each year, we are blown away by the high quality and creativity of submissions received. I am looking forward to seeing this year’s artwork and meeting some of the talented artists,” she said.
Winning submissions will be announced at the Celebration Event on 23 October at Deakin Edge in Federation Square and the People’s Choice Award will be announced on 29 October following the tallying of online votes.
Entries for submissions close Friday 31 August 2018.
