Chair for State Trustees Announced

State Trustees Limited has today announced the appointment of The Honourable Jennifer Acton as its Chair with effect from 1 December 2015.

The Honourable Jennifer Acton is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and an economist. She has over 30 years’ experience in workplace relations, change management, alternative dispute resolution and judicial administration. This includes the last twenty years as a Presidential member of the Fair Work Commission and its predecessors.

Jennifer is also the President of the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal and a Director of the Port of Hastings Development Authority and the Westernport Water Corporation. She has been a director on several other Boards, including the Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Lady Gowrie Child Centre. As well as holding Masters degrees in Law and Economics, she is a member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Also announced today was the appointment of two new Directors to the Board of State Trustees; Ms Cressida Wall has 15 years of experience leading long-term strategy and leadership experience at senior levels in the public sector, she has also worked as a Solicitor for Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Minter Ellison. Cressida has a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours), Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice and Bachelor of Arts (Jurisprudence).

Mr Mark Toohey was until recently Chief Financial Officer with Chandler Macleod and Director of MJ2E Consulting Services. Mr Toohey was previously Executive Director and CFO for GE Capital and Senior Financial Controller for the ANZ Banking Group. Mark has a Masters of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Business (Accounting). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, a Fellow of CPA Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

“I thank Director, Sue O’Connor for her contribution as interim Chair of State Trustees, and I welcome newly appointed Directors, Ms Cressida Wall and Mr Mark Toohey”.

State Trustees CEO, Craig Dent congratulated Ms Acton, Ms Wall and Mr Toohey on their appointments and thanked Ms O’Connor for her support whilst acting as the interim Chair.
