Guardianship and Administration Seminars

Guardianship and administration involves the protection of adults whose decision-making is impaired as a result of their disability by means of appointing a trusted party to act and make decisions on their behalf.

This seminar is aimed at industry professionals in the areas of aged care, hospitals, mental health, allied health and social work fields.

The purpose is to provide organisations with an understanding of the role VCAT, OPA and STL hold in providing guardianship and administration services to vulnerable Victorians.

The session will cover information on the available protective measures, the process of appointing a guardian and/or administrator as well as recommendations on how and when professionals can best access each party on behalf of their patients. There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions to each of the body representatives.

When do these seminars run?

The sessions are held quarterly and will run for up to 90 minutes with time for questions and general discussion.

The next seminar will be held in Clayton on the 13th of October 2017 and can be registered for here.
