State Trustees CEO Craig Dent appointed Adjunct Fellow within the College of Business, Victoria University

It is with pleasure that we announce that State Trustees CEO Craig Dent has formally accepted the conferral of the honorary title of Adjunct Fellow within the College of Business at Victoria University.

This appointment will see Craig provide strategic advice to the Dean’s Advisory Board, deliver guest lectures in the Master of Business Administration and Master of Change, Innovation and Leadership programs and provide input into existing and new post graduate programs.

An esteemed business leader, Craig was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer at State Trustees in December 2013, leading the organisation through significant transformation.

Being the first in his family to attend university, this appointment is of particular significance to Craig:

“I am humbled by the invitation to become an Adjunct Fellow within the College of Business at Victoria University. Over the past two years I have had the opportunity to get to know the real Victoria University, a progressive institution that prides itself on its accessibility with many students being the first in their family to attend university,” Craig said.

“Under the impressive leadership of the Chancellor, George Pappas and Vice Chancellor [and President] Professor Peter Dawkins along with the universities broader leadership, I am excited to be a part of such an innovative university and look forward to contributing to its ongoing success”.

A Member of the Financial Services Council Trustee Board, Treasurer of the Australian Guardianship and Administrative Council and an official Ambassador to Australia’s multicultural broadcaster, SBS, Craig has a many and varied background. It’s this diversity of experience that appealed most to Victoria University when making the appointment.

Victoria University Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Peter Dawkins believes Craig’s experience directly supports the University’s strategic plans:

I know that Craig will have a great impact on the College, and I look forward to working with him as he brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to Victoria University”.

Professor Colin Clark, Dean of the College of Business at Victoria University mirrored those sentiments:

“We are delighted by the appointment of Mr Craig Dent as an adjunct of the College of Business.  Craig brings with him a wealth of senior business experience which will be highly valued. We look forward to Craig’s contribution of advice in developing business curriculum and developing strategic directions for the College and I am sure that our MBA students will welcome the opportunity to hear from Craig about his experiences as a senior executive”.

An alumnus of the Leadership Victoria, Williamson Community Leadership Program, Craig received an International Exemplary Leader Award from the Chair Academy for Advances in Academic and Administrative Leadership and was recognised by the Australian Institute of Management for his contribution to the Australian business community receiving the highest endorsement that can be awarded; Fellow status.

Craig is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.
