About Us

A heritage of helping

State Trustees has been helping protect Victorians, especially those with a disability, since 1939.

Back then, State Trustees operated as The Public Trust Office of Victoria which was established when the offices of The Curator of Estates of Deceased Persons and The Master in Equity were amalgamated. Nearly 50 years later, in 1987, State Trustees was created and managed under a board of directors.

In 1994, State Trustees became a State owned business, helping Victorians protect and manage their assets. We provide clients with financial and legal assistance for every stage of their life, offering products and services including Will writing and Executor Services, Attorney Services, Deceased Estate Administration, Trustee Services, Personal Financial Administration, Genealogical Services and Financial Planning. We also prepare more Wills than any other organisation in the State.
